Simbarashe Gukurume is a Senior Lecturer at Sol Plaatje University, South Africa. He is a social scientist working at the intersections of sociology and social anthropology, focusing on youth subjectivities and how these intersect in complex ways with various aspects of everyday life such as politics, livelihoods, and transitions. Simbarashe is also interested in questions of informality, religiosity, displacement, and youth political expression in spaces of protracted economic and political crisis.
