Ningyi Sun is a film director, writer, actor, and a grantee of funds from Sundance, the Ford Foundation, the IDFA Bertha Fund, and Chicken Egg Pictures. She is fluent in five languages and has experience living among different communities and cultures on three continents. Her filmmaking is inspired by storytelling. She is interested in stories that capture tensions resolved through human connection. She is the co-director of Eat Bitter (2023). Ningyi holds a master’s degree in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
